How Do I Register To Vote?

Registration is easy and there are several ways to go about it. You can register in person, by mail, or even over the internet!

Who Can Register?

To register to vote, you must be a US citizen and:

Be at least 18 years of age on the day of the next General Election;
Have resided in your precinct at least 29 days before the election in which you will be voting; and
Are not currently in prison after being convicted of a crime.

What is the Registration Deadline?

You must apply to register to vote at least 29 days before the election in which you will be voting. If you register by mail, your form must be postmarked no later than 29 days before Election Day.

For the Tuesday, May 6, 2008, Primary Election Day, you must be registered by Monday, April 7, 2008, in order to vote in that election.

For the Tuesday, November 4, 2008, General Election Day, you must be registered by Monday, October 6, 2008, in order to vote in that election.

Once you register in a precinct, your registration will be in effect until you move or become ineligible -- in other words, you don't need to re-register before every election!

Where Do I Vote?

After you register to vote, you will be sent a Voter Registration Card which tells you the voting districts you live in and where to vote.

If you aren't sure where your polling place is, you can contact the Voter Registration Office (364-6437), or consult the following list.
